Obviously, trade is conditional to Pacioretty signing an extension in FLO, which shouldn't be an issue as he already has a house down there

they just committed to Matheson so this is unlikely.

we didnt trade away a superior D for offense to trade a superior forward of a D its just counter productive .

Bjugstad is about to be pushed out by Borgstrom he's been a 3rd Center since Trocheks came and his value is dropping the longer he's in FLA
As even Mckenzie on 4th takes more faceoffs for Bjugstad and plays more 5v5 its special teams thats keeping nick's minutes respectable .
at this point MTL would have the leverage to trade for a Younger Center FLA has no direction for who could slot in beautifully on MTL's second line
as well as allowing us to demand picks aswell because even when patches is slumping he's a top 6 player undisputed but the same cant be said about Bjugstad for 3 years now i think its been .

this way FLA still has its D and if we can land lets say their first and Bjugstad for Patches and our 2nd its a win win .
with all 13/31 players in the 1st round being projected as D that helps us while most of the wingers and goalies have been pushed to 2nd round
which are the area's FLA needs depth in and they are again after all getting a legit 30 goal scorer and our Captain placing him with Trocheck or Barkov will be the first time
he's seen icetime with a player who could be top center in his NHL career.

just trade Petry and boom our D makes sense
Mete-Weber(as it should be)
Alzner-Juulsen(they've been great and Juulsen mentioned liking the support and insight he gives saying its helped him a lot )
Reilly-Benn(Reilly has 2pts in 3 games here why mess with success if it works they can be there to step up nights rookie mistakes happen with Juulsen or Mete instead of leaving them out to dry )
