I would trade RNH for Subban straight up, but not for Weber.

As of right now, what are the chances the Habs land the #1 overall pick?
Can Carlson play left D effectively?

Weber isn't going anywhere and with both Weber and Petry at RD, No way is Carlson signing with Montreal.

Not saying you're wrong about Weber, just that you're really, really wrong about Subban. He'd destroy your team because he doesn't know how to make the players around him better. .

You're not wrong, though Shaw is not a cap problem in the $80M world, as long as he's playing third-line minutes and on the PK.

I suspect that is almost surely the case. Besides, Juulsen has looked pretty good so far.

Theoretically, it's about a 7.5% chance right now, but no way Bettman lets that happen. I'd put money on the lottery coming up NYR or NYI.

I agree with you to a certain point. 3.9 mil for 5 years (I believe that’s his contract) is a lot for a player that doesn’t really produce that much. I know the blues have a couple bad contracts as well (berglund, sobotka, Bouwmeester, and arguably gunnarson) but to me that contract can hurt you down the road. Having the cap go up to 80 mil will just make the players want more money so your typical 2c is going to eventually want a million more than he would typically cost.
