Doesn't make sense to trade for a top 6 RW when we have Yamamoto and Puljujarvi.

If we keep Lucic he is a 3LW. So lets say we draft Zadina or Tkachuk, we still need 1 more top 6 LW if you trade away RNH.

I am not convinced we should trade for a RHD when Bear will likely be ready for the NHL in 2019-20 and none of Nurse, Larsson, Klefbom, and Benning are at the age defensman usually peak. I think we go one more year with the same defence then re evaluate summer 2019. Summer 2019 we can trade Sekera and Russell without them having to waive their NMZ... and we will see where Jones and Bear are at. Also, Sekera has negative value right now, let him rebound from his injury and he will have positive value. If he reaches his peak he could probably net us a 1st round pick from a contender (see McDonagh trade).

Yeah I'm torn on the issue. I just don't want to see us trade RNH, picks, and prospects for RHD where there is a chance we won't need one in a year or two, and when there is a strong chance Chiarelli will lose the trade based on his past history with big trades.

If the point is to put Lindholm at centre thus not that bad the only thing is every other team knows the cap issue and might try and take advantage (see Chicago). And before every tells me Lindholm is a winger according tk every depth chart he is a centre so putting him in even Draisaitl spot and moving him to wing could finally give one of the 2 wingers the oilers are having a hard time finding to put with McDavid.

2 core roster players that are a part of the hurricanes future for a washed up 1st overall pick and a trash contract . doesn't make sense oilers fans your team will nit make the playoffs for another ten years.
