A little too steep for my liking for Dylan Larkin.

What do you think would be fair? Maybe take out one of the 1st's and make it a 2nd

I think that would make it "fairer," but I still wouldn't give up all of this for Dylan Larkin. I'm not a big fan of his and trading unproven asset isn't something that I prefer to do.

If I wanted to trade a pick/prospect, I would want to get Andreas Anthanasiou.

I actually have a scenario for signing AA as a RFA too Giving up Rubstov or Morin and a 2nd. Making AA your 3rd C. I want speed there to help with the PK

Yeah that's something I could get behind.

not saying the wings would take it but it is a fair trade. because the player traded for Detroit are on elcs, or even not in the league, Detroit could spend that Dylan money, for example 6.5m or another 6.5m player.
so if Detroit was in a full blown rebuild, it makes sense. do the flyers really need another centre though

My answer to that is yes, they have a lot of Center prospects (Rubstov and Frost) that I think are better off on the wing and a lot of 4th centers (Vorboyov, Laughton, Vecchionne) But Larkin would be a perfect 3rd line C

Seems like an awful lot to give up to get his rights and then pay term/money for a 3C. Couldn't cheaper options fit the bill, probably from within, instead?

The compensation for a $6.5m offer should be four 1sts as the total offer is $49.5m which is then divided by 5 (if the contract offered is longer than 5 years). If I'm Detroit I'd probably take the extra two firsts over Morin and Rubstov.

I also think that's a really high price for a 3rd line centre as good as Larkin is or might be.
