OTT doesn't want to retain salary. That doesn't happen.

I would do a three way trade with a team that can afford a salary retention because yeah Ottawa will not retain salary

Ottawa would have to retain salary, and give up to pick to the Ducks to get rid of Ryan.

        But the owner won't.

No one wants Ryan, he's a Senator forever. As a observer of the Sens it's funny to me that Melynk gets so much criticism. He's seemed to be OK when the Sens went on that unrealistic Eastern Conference run. Then they trade for Duchesne (for some reason) trying to repeat last year. Senators were only sellers when the team went so badly this year. Not sure how this is really Melynk's fault.

He gets criticism for being cheap. Which, he is.
