You have some forwards that know how to play well defensively from Montreal which Dallas seems to need. I think that you have Dallas overpaying in the trade with Montreal though.

I see mostly these trades pointless. I don't like that Habs trade, we're losing too much. Lindell's been great.

What I'd offer is Dickinson for Shaw. It's true that Dallas needs a defensive forward, and Shaw fits in that description.

Why would you give up Dickinson (who is one of the Stars bette Center prospects) for a Bottom-6 power forward who has never had a 40+ point season?

Because he's defensively better than Dickinson, and also I have not been really impressed of his performance so far.

Defensively, we are one of the better teams in the league this season. Not sure we need to get "better". And his performance has been down, because he's been centering guys like Ritchie and Elie. He's made to more of a playmaker. Kinda hard to set up guys like Ritchie and Elie, neither of whom are good goal scorers. He keeps progressing and you'll see him on the 2nd line (which is his ceiling) and you'll see him next to guys like Nichushkin and Janmark, both of who know how to put the puck in the back of the net. Don't judge Dicksinson based on his 4th line time this season. He isn't the 4th line grinder role that Hitch has him playing this season.

What comes to Nichushkin, I wouldn't exactly say he is certainly returning to NHL. In Moscow, he has got the star forward role. He might just be staying in there.

His contract is up after this season, and he has already expressed that he is going to return to the Stars for the 2018-2019 season.

If that's the case, then good. I haven't heard anything about that.
