Buffalo I think would definitely move back from #2 for that haul. You may be sending TOO much to Buffalo honestly. Change 18th OA to a 2nd maybe? Idk high pick values that well as they don’t happen too much in the nhl

    E. Kane is just not needed. I just don't see him as a fit for this team where there are other, cheaper options, particularly if a 2nd/3rd line winger.
Not sure I see any team taking both MacDonald and Weise, especially NSH, but would be nice.
Neuvirth might be worth a little bit more, maybe a 5th rounder.
The Simmonds + 1st for Josi trade is interesting. I don't see NSH trading their captain while on a very team friendly contract, but my guess is that it would be a starting point for more talks.
The move to 2nd overall is ambitious. If it is Rubtsov, a 1st, and 2nd, and you draft a pure goal-scoring sniper that the team desperately needs, the I would be willing to pull the trade, but more research is needed considering this is supposed to be a deep draft and Flyers may not want to do that for this draft year.

I presume that's a joke? In fact is this whole proposal a joke?

Why are Nashville just taking two bum contracts off us for zero compensation and then trading away their best contract, captain, and perhaps most valuable player.

That Buffalo deal isn't even close to getting a top two pick. Rubtsov, while not a bust, has been underwhelming this season and two mid-round firsts don't equate to getting a franchise winger. You'd need to either add in a true bluechip prospect or add in a top 5 pick (which you'd need to acquire elsewhere). Teams don't trade top 3-5 picks for a reason.

Josi has one of the best contracts in the NHL and is the cornerstone of Nashville’s team. Even if Nashville wasn’t pursuing there first Stanley Cup, it would take a massive haul similar to what Ottawa is looking for for Erik Karlsson. And unless this Rubtsov guy is a blue chip prospect, Buffalo would be foolish to make that trade.

Thanks for all the feedback, I'm a novice at this. I will admit the Josi trade was more hopeful than realistic. But you guys don't think the flyers could put together a package to get up to the number 2 pick?

laugh The 12th overall pick+18th overall pick+Rubstov doesn't get you the #2 overall pick not even close Detroit can beat that over just by where they will finish in the standing.

It's not that far fetched according to some draft pick charts. 379+507= 886. 2nd pick Value 871.
