Overpay for Gallagher. It should get MTL to say yes, and he's a great player with a great contract, but Dube is a guy that the Flames aren't looking to move. He's looking more and more like a Brayden Point type of player.

I get what you were saying, but Flames are in desperate need for offensive forwards. I think they would easily find a way to slot in Tavares around their other Cs if they could.

Value is more than there for Gallagher, but he's the last player I would trade if I was MTL.
If you manage to get Tavares and at such a cheap price, at least give him max term!

I don't think Tavares would sign for that low, but I could see 7 years @ $11M per potentially. It will depend if he feels Calgary gives him a chance to win. If they do manage to sign him, I would use Jankowski in the deal to Montreal, as they need a young centre with good upside, and it's a waste to play him on the 4th line. Dillon Dube has played centre through junior, but wing at World Jrs and would be a good option to keep on the wing.

I don't think adding Neal is feasible if you add Tavares, because his money is going to prevent them from being able to re-sign Tkachuk after this season.
