Zero chance that Detroit would take Ty Smith with the #6 overall pick, Detroit would take either Quinton Hughes, Oliver Wahlstrom or Evan Bouchard over Ty Smith any day. Probably the same with Noah Dobson as well.

While I hope your right, in this article, Draper calls out the D talent in this year's draft by specifically mentioning Bovqist, Bouchard, Dobson and Ty Smith. No mention of Quinn Hughes. While I would prefer Hughes myself over Smith and Dobson for sure, I'm not sure the Wings' brass feels that way.
