    MTL is not planning on going into rebuild so a cap dump is not something they are looking for but if you add some more promising prospects they are better off keeping him

    Agreed that Montreal needn't rebuild, but could benefit from a rebalance. The cap space is there to take $2M/year from Weber's contract. I would take the trade if Rubtsov were replaced by either Morgan Frost (who ranks 44th on the Hockey News Future Watch, whereas Rubtsov is #45) or with the Flyers #1 in 2020. So, MacDonald, a prospect and a 2018 pick or MacDonald, the 2018 #1 and the 2020 #1.

    Frost woyld be nice but one of MTL biggest issues for sometime is size if i was going to trade Weber and McDonald was comming i would ask for Myers, and maybe another d prospect as well

    Fair enough. I was just looking for the next-best centreman who wasn't Russian (Habs org hates Russians ... or more likely their agents).
