Ok but why? A consolation to a disappointing season?

Why not keep the college prospects and Fox for Stockton and chase some of the college FA's this summer? Calgary's problem this season was Smith being built of glass and the leagues most ineffective bottom 6. That's a free agency fix, not a "sell parts for draft picks fix". If anything, they should do as you have with Columbus: move Brodie for a middle-6 scorer and a mid-round pick. Special teams boils down to coaching. Are they running an effective system? What are other teams doing better than the Flames are currently?

The Flames don't need to chase a 1st round pick this year. But if they want to do dumb things, this Oilers fan won't stop them smile

I agree I don't think they need a 1st. Especially since outside of the top 10 the draft is such a fickle beast.

Biggest issue this year has been like you mentioned very poor performance from the bottom 6. Bennett-Jankowski have potential but sticking them with Brouwer and Hathaway, you can't expect much to happen. As for the 4th line, yeah what a mess.

The PP is a mess it's been terrible all season and the player deployment has been laughable. Seriously took 50+ games for them to put Hamilton on the 1st unit.. the leading D man in goals this season. Brouwer and his 6 goals this season on the first unit..

I'm hoping they can bring in 2 top 9 forwards this summer. Trade Brodie for one and sign a UFA, hopefully JVR

Don't think the Rangers take that. Fox, as good as he is, is still a year or two out of the NHL and the Rangers would much rather move one of their first rounders for a younger guy already in the league.

Agree here. Gorton’s already said he may move one of the picks but if he does I feel he’ll move to trade up or he’ll trade for an established young nhler. Fox still needs time to develop.
