Might be a stretch to call Bennett a 3C. Certainly his production may not warrant it. You could say Bennett and Brown are a even trade. Am I'm reading the trade as it's a first and second and Liljegren for Hamilton?
Is so, it shows the Calgary paid too much for Hamonic (well we knew that already) and it's about the same as McDonagh with less term.

It's definitely an interesting idea, and I do think both trades are pretty close in values. I think the Leafs would have to add in one more prospect though. Hamilton is a young, bonafide #1 dman signed to a reasonable contract, and while Liljegren may become that over time, Leafs fans are acting like he's already Drew Doughty.

No Bobby Ryan for me, I don't wanna be forced into protecting him in a Seattle expansion draft looming.

I only send Hamilton to TOR for Nylander no ifs ands or butts about it. We are talking about a young RHD that plays top pair minutes and is leading D men in goals this season...

Bennett for Brown is interesting potentially

Big no on the Toronto trade for me. If there’s one thing Calgary doesn’t need its more D prospects. I’d rather see the, trade a D prospect to get some forward help. Hamilton is a cornerstone piece and I don’t think Calgary is going to move him. I could see Brodie getting moved for a 1st rounder, maybe packaged with Bennett or one of the D prospects for a high pick.
