Description
What are some trades for Petry ( waives his NMC ) that would not be out of the realm for possibility. I feel like teams like the NYI or Leafs would be Ideal teams as they are in the market for a top 4 RHD.
A starting point for a trade with these 2 teams mention i can see being:

Petry - Conner brown
Petry - RFA Brock Nelson Rights.
+ picks and or prospects from either side

Throw in Lafontaine, Bossy, and Turgeon, for old times' sake?

I am just happy to see someone with the desire to trade Petry. He is brutal. 4 giveaways against Capitals. Only 1 game!

We have no use for wingers or low-tier centers. It would be a wasteful to trade Petry for either of those two. We need centers and offensive/puckmoving d-men. We also need to remove the logjam at D (too many D) by trading for picks or prospects. Also, our wings are heavy too (Hudon on 4th line), which is why I said we shouldn't trade for wingers and kick out good players.

Im a big Petry fan and loved when we resigned him after the 14/15 season, hes literally having a career year and i think his price tag is at its highest its ever been. I love him as a solid 3D but with a lot of RD prospects in this years draft, if we draft one petry may be expendable. Hes literally our only good defencemen rn with weber injured

He is 4th worst of all D-men in entire NHL in turnovers, (In last game, 4 against the Capitals). His plus/minus is terrible, His D-zone coverage is sub-par. He skates well and has some offense. Yes he is good on PP but not reliable in his own end. What is the use of having a D, that can produce but then in next shift cough up the puck and give other team opportunities to score. For me, it is not worth it. I would rather move him. Next year we will have Weber (top pairing) and Juulsen (3rd pairing). Personally I would move Petry and go get another d-man. Of course I would not trade Petry until I had a better replacement.
