2ndly, why are u giving up that much for him?

He did retain 50% on Howard on his other post, But bottom line Detroit is giving up far too much for a KHL Goalie Prospect that has 0 NHL experience. The NYI would be making out like bandits on this deal.

I don't think you have to sign a player to the ELC, you can pay them more if you want. If you cant then that's pretty stupid.
And it's not that much for a star goalie who is still young.
As far as I'm aware you can't actually retain it. If you can I don't know how. But it's not that hard to figure it out in your head. 10,199,622 minus 50 percent of Howards contract (5,291,667) - 2,645,833 so you have 7,553,789 in cap space

Sorokin's at the top of the KHL. He's going to make the NHL and be pretty good. But it's hard to know whether that's next year or not. He's also not the only Isles goalie prospect tearing up the KHL, so I could see them trading him for picks and prospects at other positions. Adding an NHL player or two into the mix certainly gets their attention if Tavares leaves and they have cap space. If he stays and they don't, then it insults them. Tough to predict until free agency shakes out.

Why would you not want the bargain of getting to sign him to 925K instead of 4M?
Also, when ur making a trade, press the + button on the player to retain an amount on his contract.

ok thanks, and I would pay him more so he comes over to the NHL. He might not leave the KHL if not. And he would be worth the money.

Well I did it in theory of Fedorov becoming GM, he plays for Fedorov in Russia. I don't think he wants to play for the Islanders either. Not if Tavares leaves. Now this is just for fun but again 99.9 percent of the trades on here wont happen. People take it so serious and everyone thinks they're right laugh

Well I guess thinking if Sergei was here it does make some sense. I just don't think Howard is the return they probably would want. Federal could be interesting as a gm. Yzerman contract is supposedly done after next year so I'll hold out hope they just bring kenny back one more year and then hand stevie the keys to everything
