I like the Hertl and Schlemko trades but Shaw one doesn't make sense to me. PHI wouldn't be willing to take Shaw's contract even though they are giving up Lehtera's. Lehtera is awful this year and has been a healthy scratch for most of it. When he is playing, he is on the 4th line and a defensive liability. He would not be your 2nd line center. If he would be, then this trade might make more sense. PHI has to resign a few key assets in Provorov and Konecny during this season so taking on Shaw's contract to be a bottom 6 player wouldn't make sense.
To me, a realistic trade of Shaw's contract would be to a team looking for more bottom 6 depth and trade a 2nd or 3rd (depending on the return)

Good point, my logic with Lehtera is that he could possibly return to his St.Louis form with a change of scenery. Flyers save almost a million in cap space for this season... Thinking they should be in a win now mode (with Simmonds,Konecny,Provorov,Weal,Hagg,Sanheim, etc needing decent salary upgrades) so saving up on current salary may be of importance come free agency and deadline time. They also get some Stanley cup experience in Shaw as I don't believe they have to much of that on their current roster (excluding Oduya)

Sharks say no I think. It's not that the value isn't potentially there, it's just that I think Hertl is part of the Sharks future and it's hard to see them trading him.
