If Erik Karlsson is signed to 10m/8 year deal, (it doesn't show it above), but you'd be over the cap. You'd have to shed some salary a bit

Your right about cap the following year. Cap would likely go up a bit, and movement of one of the def or lucic contract paired with high draft pick and Pouliot contract off books. Doable I think.
