I don't know if you noticed but the leafs are selling anyone. Bonino may not be as good as Bozak but he is cheaper. The leafs want tons of cap space and bozak isn't in their future. MAybe should have included another pick or just a 2nd rounder instead of a 3rd.
The Pens tried to go cheap at their bottom 6 and it really didn't work out. Bonino wasn't scoring when healthy and Fehr really wasn't either. Bozak is a better faceoff guy than either and has better offensive output.
With Players like Sheary, Rust or Wilson likely taking over bottom 6 roles permanently next season you can have a 3rd line center with a higher cap hit and Bozak is much better suited to fill in a top 6 role if malkin or crosby get injured for stretch(which is likely to happen).

You know what? That is a fair point. Pens will probably go young on their bottom 6 next year due to the success of the AHL'ers this season. They could afford a heavier contract. This also kind of reminds me of the famous 3 centre module. Although bozak isn't as good as staal, he's better then anyone we've had since. He could be a good 40 point player and give Daniel sprong someone to receive passes from
