Don't think Wennberg would be needed until Schenn inevitably leaves. The Draisaitl-Tarasenko trade is interesting considering Stone would be brought in. Not sure how I feel about this team. I think the earlier Thomas can be placed at center the better it would be for his development. Partially why Schenn isn't great at faceoffs is because he wasn't exposed enough at the time of his debut because he was focused on playing on the wing.

Wow super interesting to think about! Probably the most fair Draisaitl deal I’ve seen on this site.

Very cool! I like the Draisaitl for Tarasenko move. The move for Mark Stone is brilliant. I'd take your thoughts a step further by moving J. Allen and his salary.

I'm super torn on the Tarasenko-Draisaitl deal. Tarasenko is a super star. He also disappears for long stretches. I think Tarasenko is a better player than Draisaitl, but Leon plays a more important position. If we can get Stone and maybe a bit more depth at RW this offseason, then I'd do it. I like the Wenneberg deal.

Wennberg has been on fire since the addition of Vanek. He's 23 years old and much less of a paperweight than Berglund. I think Dubinsky for Berglund is closer to fair, but doesn't accomplish anything. Agree with you that Stone is probably worth more than that package (really, he's untouchable). It's a good package, but I view Stone as a top 10 RW in the NHL right now.

How in the world could you ever think that Berglund for Wennberg straight up even distantly resembles a fair deal? Wennberg has outproduced Berglund at every phase of his career, both in terms of draft+ years and in terms of actual side-by-side season years, and he's six years younger; he's easily the superior player by a large margin. That'd be like us offering Savard straight up for Parayko; it's insanity even to suggest it.

Maybe if the First from Winnipeg in the Stasny deal would make it considerable but then you'd still might need more like the blues first round pick as well. Two first round picks and Burgland for Wennberg. The other trades are someting, I like them though, good moves. I'd also move Allen and at the very least get him a solid backup.

This was from an article a week ago. Pretty safe to say he's a better player than Patrik Berglund.

"The Jenner-Wennberg-Vanek line was put together for the first time March 1 in Vanek’s first game with the Blue Jackets after being traded to Columbus. In the 14 games since, Wennberg has gone 2-9-11. Jenner is 6-6-12, and Vanek is 7-6-13. The 15 total goals from this line account for 28 percent of all the Jackets’ goals in the same span.

According to Corsica.hockey, among combinations with 100 minutes or more of ice time together, this line ranks fourth in the league in goals for percent (88.89) and when it comes to shot quality, their expected goals for percentage (69.43 percent) is second overall."
