Another Habs fan trying to trade one of either Benn or Schlemko to the Avs for a pick! The Avs would have no need or use for either. Zadorov, Girard, Nemeth, Barberio, Lindholm, Siemens, Warsofsky - all left handed D who would be ahead of them for the Avs.

stop with the RNH trades already, he is a smallish center who plays poor defence and is overpaid. it's like they last guy we would need to fix our center-line.
I liked the Domi trade tho, i can't stand Drouin and his attitude. I think the value is there on that one.

lol well schlemko is worst than benn so at least he didn't gave you our worst trash aha but yea you guys don't really have need for left d unless it's a solid top 4 guy because Zadorov and Girard as your best left-handed shot is.......okay but it could be much better.
i'd see the avs getting one of Brodin, Scandella or hell even OEL!

Benns a top shot blocker who plaid RD most of his career until he landed on CJ's Team.
his back hand in transition is pretty strong due to years or practice and he's cheap .

Schlemko's just trash like Hemsky and only deserves a buyout .

The Canadiens were without Tavares 100 years ago.
They didnt have him when they won 27 (I think) cups.
He wasn’t there with all the HoF players they had.
He wasn’t there when this team was still a strong playoff contender.
He’s not there now.
The Canadiens Without Tavares is... right now.

It must have been so sad for them, winning all those Cups, but not having the best unrestricted free agent center of 2018.

If Benn is a RD he's still behind Johnson, Barrie, Timmins & Meloche, (not necessarily on current ability but Meloche & Timmins won't get better if they don't get the opportunity, and a rebuilding team is better to give those two guys a chance) and it would make also more sense to sign Makar and bring him on sooner than waste a mid-range pick, or even a low one, on Benn.

Yes, perhaps only 'okay' but still better than Benn or Schlemko, and agreed, if the Avs go for more D it's going to be someone better.

Good chance Barrie gets traded at some point but as for shopping him, I'm not sure the Avs have been, more the fans. That still leaves EJ, Timmins, Meloche & Makar plus two or three guys who are lefties who can play right D. I like the idea of the Avs taking another shot at getting Carlo out of Boston for one of their young forwards that has been mooted on here a few times if they're looking at trading Barrie and reinforcing the right side.

Timmins play in the pre-season last year showed he was probably ready to hold his own. Admittedly he could probably do with a little seasoning first in the AHL if we're talking ideal scenario but if that's the case you keep Barrie & EJ on the right and use any of the others the Avs have who can also play right side who are as good as Benn. It's just a nonsensical trade for the Avs.

True but the majority of Avs fans would have said the Same about Barberio before you claimed him our AHL Allstar D and third pair call up who thrived in COL.
its not out of the realm of reason to think Benn who has been better in MTL then Barberio was would thrive in COL to but i guess the defining factor would be the cost .
MTL has some good prospects we just have the worst defense coach in the entire NHL who's had 3 LD rebuilds under him alone 2/3 rebuilding around Markov and honestly if
year 1 of this rebuild is any indicator Daigneault has fallen short again .

the one thing i like about COL is its the best for the job , you got no one with a job by proxy for being french like we got .
Molson's been a Cancer and we've busted more prospects under him then under anyone else in the modern era with many like Nygren ,Nattinen ,Diets and others leaving MTL's system Grudgingly to succeed elsewhere .
(Nygren publicly blasted our AHL system Development )

Agreed on Barberio but there's a difference between a waiver claim or a player finding a home in free agency (the most likely future for Benn I expect will be signing a cheap free agency contract to play with his brother).

On MTL's issues I think it's about time MTL gave up on the whole 'French first' thing, it's way out of date. I'm sure they won't do so however, and I'm sure there is probably still enough die hard support for it in Quebec. Colorado's system has left a lot to be desired up until recently though so we can both hope MTL can make a change as well. I don't personally enjoy seeing any franchise failing abysmally.
