Helping fix Toronto's playoff woes

Created by: Ktaaffe8

Description
Playoffs show that TOR needs a shutdown defender. Parayko has not (and may never) reach his potential as an offensive defender but he is most definitely a shutdown RHD.

I think the wrong team is giving a prospect here. wingers are easy to draft, but A legit number 1 RHD is a rare commodity

I debated on that. I just felt that since Marner has one more year left on his ELC, it would make it fair to give a prospect. If the trade were for Nylander, TOR would add a pick or prospect for sure

Blues don't need to add a prospect for Marner even with a year left on his ELC. But as a Blues fan, not sure I'd make this trade anyway. Marner looks great, hasn't shown anything in postseason the last two years. I'd go for a more established star like Draisaitl before Marner

Gee, criticizing a 20 year old for not showing anything in post season. At least the Leafs point leader made the playoffs.

Not saying it's all his fault as Toronto hasn't done anything of relative note right now. But what I am saying is that he looks completely overwhelmed out there which you don't like seeing even from a young. Dubois, Laine, Matthews, McAvoy, DeBrusk, Pastrnak, these guys are rising to the occasion even if Matthews doesn't have a point. He's looked good with and without the puck. Marner hasn't. Yeah he's still a young guy and will get better with time, but when a player looks intimidated and overwhelmed it sends a red flag.
