You just traded this guy for Noah Hanifin. I thought this must be some kind of a flim flam, but actually he plays in Flin Flon.

Oh! A different kid I haven't heard of in amateur junior. At least this one was drafted. http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=170115

Some years a point a game shows potential in juniors. This year it's like the '80s down there. So just a point a game, even on defense, gets you a 2nd pick, not a #1 defenseman off a better team.

    Bye already.

New Rule: if you're trading someone who wasn't drafted in the top ten of their year and hasn't played a single pro game, type their first name or put a link to their stats, so people have some idea what you're trying to sell them. If they have some sort of strength that their stats in juniors don't show, either explain that, or just trade a draft pick.

I'm sure there are two dozen Rangers fans who have some idea that Sean Day is a 3rd round pick defenseman with the Windsor Spitfires.

It's still a troll offer for Hanifin.

I don’t think that’s close for Hanifin but you don’t have to be so rude about it.. If you don’t know the prospect maybe do some research on him before you rip the OP apart? Just bc you’ve never heard the name doesn’t mean they’re trash.

I did. I googled S Day. I've posted a link to each of them now. And some hilarious puns for your enjoyment, free of charge!

    You didn't.

If you're not part of the solution... you're part of the precipitate.

wow even though this is not enough for hanifin do your homework on sean day before acting like an individual that has hit a crack pipe one too many times. One link that just shows statistics does not fully show a prospects profile. Day was granted exceptional player status to play in junior-- not given to many people. the potential is there, the difficult thing was his personal issues (not a joke when your older brother goes to prison for killing someone) caused a hiccup in his development. Still a steal of a pick for the third round at #81. His value skyrocketed once he was traded to windsor last year as it was able to open up another part of his game. He's shown great ability in terms of skating and offensive capability and has the big bodied frame and the combination of that fits the prototypical NHL defenseman of todays game. While he probably wont be in the NHL for another 2 years-- i'm stoked that the rangers have him

I’ll base this on your rule, Kucherov was a 2nd round pick. So he is worth 0 in a trade. Lundqvist was a 7th round pick, he was never worth anything either in a trade? Sean Day was known for his attitude problem when he was younger which is why he fell to the 3rd round. Talent wise, he could have been a 1st round pick.

Okay. Let's be positive. Now that I've tried twice with no help to figure out who this mythically gifted high risk prospect is, and carefully read your criticisms of my personality flaws, let me try to guide you all into finding the actual task at hand:

if you want to compose a semi-realistic offer for Noah Hanifin, find out what the Canes need. Hint: it ain't wingers or young defensmen. Try reading some of the trades they're making. That side of the board seems pretty obsessed with O'Reilly, but also with Holtby. If the Rangers are totally rebuilding, give them Lundqvist and a 1st, and Hanifin is more than yours.

laugh A 30 year old Zuccarello for a 21 year old Hanifin, Carolina is on record saying they want a future #1C for Hanifin and Zucc is a RW. Carolina would've little interest in a Zuccarello for Hanifin deal.
