What's Simmonds worth, @ draft?

Created by: Turner33
Team: 2018-19 St. Louis Blues
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 20, 2018
Published: Apr. 20, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Three options, A B or C...
May be none of them IDK.
Philly should stay the course, keep getting younger while Pittsburgh gets older.

I just think he'd be a great fit in those 3 different line combos next year. (I'm aware ppl don't like him and Schenn together)

I'd want something else in addition to the 2018 1st - WPG. Not sure what you can offer (maybe 2019 STL pick 21 protected) or future pick swaps in 2021, 2023 for first round picks

Thought 18 1st and Barbashev... Kinda an overpayment. Maybe conditional picks of he doesn't resign?

Don't really think that Barbashev has a long term role with Philly (which is why I declined haha).

Personally, I'd be willing to do this, but it hasn't been done in the NHL before (future picks, that is):

    St. Louis Blues
    Wayne Simmonds (potential retained salary)

    Philadelphia Flyers
    2018 1st round pick (WPG)
2021 1st round pick swap rights
2023 1st round pick swap rights

    I think a 1st and a prospect/young NHLer is enough.

How about Fabbri and a conditional 2nd if he resigns and 3rd if he does not.

So like we give u a 1st, and swap 1sts, giving you the better in 1 or both of those years?

But our 1sts will be 32oa???

I'd be happy with using the WPG 1st and a prospect. Of all of Army's options, that is the base package he is most likely to use for a guy like Hoffman, RNH, Pacioretty, Simmonds, or whoever else becomes available. But I think Hexy is pretty stubborn about wanting to roll with guys that they drafted/developed internally, so he'd probably want something more like what @phillyjabroni is talking about. With PHI and STL on similar trajectories, I'm not sure if there's much risk to swapping 1sts so I'd probably do that, maybe not so far out though. Who trades picks 5 years out?

I'd do it for package "C". Package "A" I'd probably want another prospect back and for package "B" I wouldn't do just because I'd want something similar to the Lehtera return. The draft picks swap thing I don't even see as a realistic option sorry Nick. I'm trying to be a bit more realistic than trying to turn this into a Hinkie trade lol.

But Sobotka actually has some value as a hockey player. He's not just there to carry giroux's sticks/shower supplies/hair products like lehterable???
