DeBrincat and Toews barely enough to fetch Draisaitl? Lol a 3 time Stanley cup captain and McDavid's junior linemate that had 52 pts this season playing on the 2nd/3rd line. They are worth every single asset in that proposed deal. Draisaitl isn't as good as everyone thinks he is, Yamamoto went 22nd overall for a reason and Benning? rofl he isn't worth a bag of pucks. Oilers would actually be the winners of that deal. Stanton over Samorukov? lol that statement right there tells me everything about your knowledge of Edmonton's prospects. Larsson was probably the team's worst defenseman this year, maybe Sekera was a bit worse. They traded Hall for a high hitting d-man that banks pucks of the boards when players are open. Drake making 1.5 is twice as much as he should be making? He's been up and down the lineup, even playing with McDavid, he's coming into his 3rd year in which he will have a massive improvement just due to experience, and you peg him as a 750k ahl salary? Lucic has been on the top 6 his entire career, a stanley cup winner, an intimidating force on the ice that garners respect from the entire league. He had an off year, just like the entire team.
Your counter argument, rofl. Just....why?
Toews makes over 10 million a season and has never put up 70 points twice. But leadership supposedly. Edmonton has enough cap troubles, so you want to downgrade Draisaitl for a guy who legit rode his reputation to a spot on the NHL 100 list? Kick rocks. Toews is easily one of the most overrated players in the game today, and Draisaitl is just entering his career already more productive than the "good ol' Canadian kid". You're out to lunch if you think Edmonton wins that trade. Yamamoto, like DeBrincat, would have been a top-15 pick had it not been for his size. If you want to use that argument, DeBrincat went 39th for a reason, why downgrade Yamamoto (see, it's a stupid argument). Benning, like most of the team had a bad year, but he still put up >20 points. That's not terrible for a guy playing his second year of pro hockey.
What point is there in developing a prospect if you've got a kid who's never played a pro game in his life as your #7 instead of letting him play top minutes in Guelph? It's beyond moronic to think he's even close. If you had Jones or Lagesson there it would have made some sense. Samorukov would get killed in his first year.
Caggiula was up and down the lineup because he couldn't produce with anyone wherever he was put. He's got heart and effort but couldn't net a puck to save his life. He hasn't warranted a raise, and if anything should see a pay cut and start in the AHL. Watch the games and/or pay even the slightest amount of attention to the team before you post dumb s*** lmao. Chiarelli banked on Caggiula having a "massive improvement" this season and it didn't pan out. If the team wants to wait on him, then he should be in the AHL period.
You can forgive Lucic for having a bad year, but Larsson having a bad season all while having to cope with the passing of his father makes him a bum. F*** off into infinity and start pretending like you're capable of an intelligent thought.
