No way the cap is increasing by $7 million this year, The NHLPA wouldn't even allow that much of an increase in one year. The salary cap for 2018/2019 season will probably be $78 million and then for the 2019/2020 season maybe $82 million it would be over 2 years not 1 year.

Doubt it increases that much in one year, Hearing $78 million for the 2018/2019 season and then possibly anywhere from $80 million to $82 million for the 2019/2020 season according to both Bettman and Daley.

FYI you can only sign Carlson for 7 years and giving Carlson $8 million per along with both Parise and Suter getting $7.5 million per is just insanity.
