Five favorite deals for the summer before the lottery

Description
Borgström would be a great fit in MTL, a center with good speed and puck vision +he seems quite charismatic too! (he hit da dab on draft day)
Never been a fan of Weber and the more time we keep him here, the harder it will get to trade him. Petry showed alot of good stuff playing #1D despite the AHL left d-men he was paired with.

That last one isn't worth it IMO. Karlsson is a nice addition but not worth a 5th and taking on Martin.

That’s a horrible trade for Weber, he is worth more then that.

Borgström trade:

I feel like FLO will ask for a lot more for a blue-chip and a first pick - we might have to part with a guy like Hudon or Lekhonen

Also, if your are going to trade our best defence... without bringing any other D... you thought the defence sucked this year... Boy you are in for a bad time ahahah

Not sure about the Weber trades... Glass is a great young NHLer ready but taking Clarskon dump (not sure Molson would appreciate that!)
So basically Taking 3 cap dump: Orpik, Clarkson, Martin (15,5M) for Glass & Karlsson... No thanks!
But I like the FLO trade... fair IMO.
With 2 first round pick: No#4= Tkatchuk No#16 Bode Wilde (because no chance to get a good C like Veleno, Whalstrom... otherwise I would have chosen Boqvist No#4)

I don't 100% agree with you on this... Mtl are giving the best player in Pacc, technically we don't need to add on.
FLO 1st pick will be for an average 1st round pick + High Prospect NHL ready but didn't prove anything so far...
don't take me wrong... Borgs as the size the skill to become a GREAT player bit didn't play in the big league yet!
IMO= Trade above is fair... with a pale blue chip in JDL + Schlemko who played well overthere... and a pick.

don't people on this site understand LTIR. Clarkson is on for for the next two years, career. his salary does not affect cap for any team. first place vegas certainly don't need weber or his 7.8m contract. Florida isn't trading two first picks for a short term of max. you've just said, "borgström would be a great fit in MTL, a center with good speed and puck vision", isn't that the exact reason it is such a one sided deal for the habs.

oh sorry to have placed Clarkson on LTIR, maybe you should get the financial side of the thing too.

Max 40 goal scorer, DLR defensive center...compare what NYR got for Nash or the sharks for Kane who are both lesser player than Max and yeah the value is there.

I think your way off on Weber's value then, a top 10 right-handed center is already asking alot from the Knights. Weber's value is really ruined by his contract.

you really don't understand? boston and San Jose were in playoff runs and making a bid for the Cup. Florida is an out of the playoff and that pick could be a lottery pick. no the value isn't there for a team like florida thoughtmontreal fans keep on repeating the same trade endlessly. would montreal trade juulsen and next year's first round pick for a one year rental. of course not, but you expect the same deal in return.

Well i am assuming the florida pick stays at 15? hence the "before the lottery" if you read carefully.

Florida was really close to making it in the playoffs and Max would probably re-sign there given the change of scenery but if it really dosen't work, FLA can tarde him at the deadline and geat a really nice return on him. Börgstrom is another lefty playing center when they already have Barkov, Throchek, Bjgustad,Malgin, Mccann all centers.

He is a high end prospect but the ask for Weber would likely be one high end prospect a pick and a roster player, probably settle with something less but it would still probably be Glass with a 2nd, then the fact that you add a cap dump into MTLs hands makes it to one sides. Froese is useless either way.

Weber’s contract is actually going to be really easy to trade in the last 3-5 years tbh. He gets paid scraps but caphit is almost 8 million and would be wonderful for a cap floor team. Still probably being a top 4 if not top 2 ala Chara on a team. I still believe weber will finish his career as a hab and retire early imo. Especially after that foot injury now, probably knocked a year off his “plan”
