Draft Day Deals trading pick 4, Moving ROR, and moving back into the top ten fro

Created by: CuyahogaKid
Team: 2017-18 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 23, 2018
Published: Apr. 23, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Buffalo will likely be interested in Brady Tkachuk or Svechnikov is they lose out on Dahlin. I think both will go top three leaving Zadina.

***** I did not finish filling out the actual roster

Bouchard and Oettinger are there just to show they are in the system, not actually on the opening day roster

  1. Hanifin, Noah
  2. 2018 2nd round pick (CAR)
Additional Details:
Buffalo gets an under 22 defenseman who provides more immediate help on D. Likely jumps right in on the top pair in Buffalo.

Carolina replaces Hanifin with Jake McCabe in the short term as a serviceable, cheap #4-5 defenseman....BUT....the long term plan will be Jake Bean.

Carolina reunites Filip Zadina with Martin Necas long term. Many have O'Reilly going to Carolina, however, I don't think it will happen because of Martin Necas. Necas is the future center they need.

42nd overall
CAR
  1. McCabe, Jake
  2. 2018 1st round pick (BUF)
Additional Details:
fourth overall pick
2.

Bouchard is a RHD. also at least put someone in 4th center role heck sign a new guy if you dont like whats available. or just bring up CJ and shift ennis to center.

I still don't understand why it seems like all Sabres fans want to get rid of O'Reilly. He's 27 years old, and he was 2nd on the team in points, only had 2 PIM's all year, he led the entire NHL in faceoffs taken (and faceoffs won), and he was on ice more than any other forward y'all had.

I mean, I didn't follow the Sabres much this year, but why would a team want to get rid of that kind of production?

There's a pretty strong consensus that Dahlin, Svechnikov, and Zadina are the top three players in this draft. Guys like Tkachuk, Hughes, and Boqvist are in the next tier down, and we'd likely be choosing from them if we pick fourth.

Additionally... If you're proposing to get your top pairing defenseman without trading ROR, why not just keep him? I'd rather have a great workhorse 2 way center than a second pairing defenseman and an unproven goalie prospect, especially with the center depth in that lineup.

I like the moves within the draft, but none of these transactions add anything up-front. "We want to get faster up front" - GMJB, so I think make some moves to add some better forwards into the lineup and this is 5 stars
