I think you should call Botterill, he would give you a 1st for Simmonds.

What if Buffalo crapped out at the Lottery, and trade #4 to Philly for Simmonds and Philly’s 2018 1st?

As long as they'd get Svechnikov or Zadina, I'm completely fine with that.

The 1st in this trade was a 2019, which I would move because with Simmonds (sort of replacing Kane but on the right side), bringing in Mittelstadt (I am not as high on Nylander as the local sport writers) and purging the cancers, the team it could make the playoffs.

IMO, if Buffalo lost the lottery and drafted 4th, I would look to trade with a team that wanted to draft a LW (NYR 8th and 30th), move down to 8th - 10th and get a good defenseman. I know many Buffalo fans are really high on Nelson and Guhle but the Sabres really need a top LHD. I want to be patient with Bogosian, he was really good with the Jets. So IMO the Sabres are set on the Right side (Ristolainen, Bogosian and Nelson 1st, 2nd, 3rd). But on the right side, no top LHD, Scandella/McCabe and Beaulieu/Guhle.

On the other hand, maybe Botterill could make 2 trades, one with PHI for Simmonds and the 14th, then a 2nd one and trade the 14th and 32nd and move up to 7th over all (CHI), get a really good fast RW and a good Defenseman. If that could happen I would do it.

Well that is my take, I value your opinion and would like to hear from you.

Evander Kane will stay in San Jose, Tavares and Carlson and Evander Kane are pipe dreams. No way do any of those 3 sign with Philly.
