I REALLY don't see Nashville trading Ekholm for that. He's an excellent Dman on an even better contract.

Agree 100%. Ekholm is what you pray Pettersson becomes even half of, and Watson is arguably one of the better bottom 6ers in the game. Yes, Silf is magic but I don't even think he and Pettersson would be worth Ekholm. That's a bonafide top 4, arguably good enough to be a complimentary top 2. He's like Manson; would you do Manson and Grant for Jarnkrok and Frederic Allard? I wouldn't.

It would hardcore mess up your cap if you signed Carlson to that ridiculously-expensive contract when Jacob Larsson is 100% NHL ready. It's such an embarassment of riches when you can let Shea Theodore go via expansion draft, trade Sam Vatanen and still have high quality defensive prospects that can step into a top-4 role. Personally, I would try to move Perry, though that contract and NTC makes him an especially tough move. Ducks need scoring and youth and have way too much money locked up in veterans they may be overstaying their welcome or seem to be constantly injured.
