not a habs fan but i think that be a pretty solid start to a rebuild, i would try to get 1st round picks for 2020 instead, as Quebec kid is slotted to be 1st overall pick and next coming of Crosby( no pressure).

Given this lineup, the Habs would still be in line for Alexis Lafrenniere in 2020.

If they pull the rip cord, those would be the players you'd want to dump. You should probably add Gallagher to the outbound group because he's more valuable to a contending team than he will be on a dismal Habs team -- the Mike Keane effect. You'd probably get a lot for him now, which would help the rebuild.

IF you do this rebuild you can’t take money back with Weber or Price. Contracts are to long and would give way to much advantage to the other team. Also don’t think your getting anything close to significant enough in these trades.

The best prospect your getting back is Bean, other then that your not getting a single elite blue chip prospect for our three best players. You need to step up the level of quality your getting in return for three players that would step into a team where they are most likely the best player that team has at that position.

If you look at Carolina, your giving them the best goal scorer they will have ever had in their franchise, the best goalie that will have ever played for them, for what’s basically a first round pick in Bean and another literal first round pick in 2018. When really the return would be something like
Price - Max for Necas, Bean, Fleury and two first round picks.

Your basically doing the same thing with Weber, with Weber the leafs could go on to win the cup and not even give us a piece that will be anything significant. For that trade you would have to look at

Weber and Byron - Liligren, Kadri, another prospect and a first round pick

I highly doubt Price and Weber are worth this much considering age and contract.

one could argue that the goalie who led them to Stanley cup is the best for their franchise history. not to mention the scoring center that got helped along the way. (ward & stall)
