Eric Staal had a career resurgence after leaving CAR and I think the same is possible with Jordan. May have to add more for him. Don't want to trade Thompson, Thomas or Kyrou though unless it is for a true #1 center

No way that second trade happens and probably not the first unless you toss in Fabbri instead of Sanford

You are not getting Jordan Staal for that. Staal is worth more than that.

Problem I have with your explanation is the idea Jordan Staal will have some sort of resurgence. His career high in points was 50 in his final year with Pittsburgh, and he's been around those same numbers. Don't think he helps the Blues much. Would rather aim for Skinner who can put up 30 goals
