Montreal won’t trade their pick unless u give them a trade they can’t refuse. (Another top 10 pick will b included. They won’t trade out of this draft).
I think they’re trading Skinner before they trade Brock McGinn. If Colorado had a top 2 D to replace Barrie, that trade may be fair (but EJ has shown us he’s not a top 2 and neither is Girard currently).

Mtl fan here... Hanafin would be AMAZING next to Weber!
He is 21yo, second year in a row with 30shhh points.. 6'3" 210lbs... for Zadina = Yes one on one Hockey trade! (Set Jones vs Johansson type of trade)
Mtl would still need to trade in getting a top-C even if the keep their 1st pick as no C are available at that spot!

Solid work on the first three trades. I think you are undervaluing the final two however. TVR and McGinn represent good value to the team, so I’d remove them from the equation. What I always find fascinating is that some Habs fans will say that your 5th overall pick (whom numerous scouts tout as having Norris upside and fills a critical need) isn’t worth a 3rd overall whom they haven’t seen yet. Hanifin, with arguably one of the best mentors in the game as his D partner, would be a game changer for MTL. But I guess they’ll get one eventuality...just like a Top 6 center. Has Tavares signed yet? ?

A lot of this is terrible, but I don’t mind the Edm trade.

#1edm loses every trade + constantly looking to save cap.

#2 nuge = Faulk, but klefbom > rask more than the 50th or so prospect from 2019 as Car prob makes the playoffs with these trades.

When you apply #1 to #2 it actually makes some solid sense though.

As an Edmonton fan, I don't consider "nuge = faulk" to be remotely true. Faulk is a net-negative player (<50% GF%) and always has been, despite getting a huge offensive push of 58% OZ starts this year.

Right but over the last 4 years it’s a .65ppg c vs .52ppg rhd... that’s about even in production given their positions.

Faulk has much superior fenwick and Corsi numbers which are more important stats then what you contributed. He cant help his pdo being low because he plays with unskilled forwards most of his career. Nuge has had a much higher pdo which usually evens out to 100% but Faulk pdo is almost always below 100% but experts say it should usually work it’s way out to an even 100%.

I think they’re about equal assets. Faulk costs over 1m less as well and he’ll probably be resigned for the 6m nuge is making now, while nuge May go up to 7, so that has to factor into why I think they are even value as well.

Because Fenwick and Corsi win games, and goal differential doesn't. shakes head

I explained to you the difference in pdo led to the goal differential statistic. That usually resolves itself and hovers around 100%. Faulk had way worse sv% and shot% each year compared to nuge. That naturally explains the difference and basically means that nuge is on the ice with superior talent over their careers. If they flip teams it is very likely Faulk has a higher goal differential than nuge, so that statistic has no merit.

Faulk helps posses the puck more and with more talent up front would be a better fit in Edm than he is in Carolina.

Nuge is a fringe 1b c and his numbers might drop in Carolina, however he fills a bigger position of need for them making him the better fit.

Both of these teams win with a nuge for Faulk trade if they both resign and Faulk takes 6x7year and nuge takes 7x7years.

If you really believe in your mind that a Faulk for nuge trade is more unfair than the hall for Larsson trade: you know nothing about hockey, your current gm, or the two players involved in the swap.
