Description
What would it realistically take to get into the top 5 picks? Maybe this is enough - definitely worthy of consideration. (Keep in mind this isn't NHL18) Some aggressive maneuvers needed in free agency and bold trades from positions of depth to remake this team. The ideal draft choice is B. Tkachuk though it also depends on who's willing to bite. (Did I mess up on rookie max salary? Is it $925 or $950? Whatever)

The Hamilton trade is interesting. Can benefit both teams.

Hamilton would be nice if Karlsson leaves Ottawa. But i doubt you'd get the #4 pick for Hamilton+Bennett. Pretty sure the Sens hold onto that pick.

except you’re losing one of the best defensemen in the NHL for an unproven prospect...

As much as I would love to have Brady there is no way Flames are giving up a #1 proven defenceman in his prime. Also, what if Bennett breaks out this year like Karlson did in Vegas......?? I don't think it will happen but I do not want to give up on Bennett yet either as I still see some decent upside.

All good points, gentlemen. Again, it's a hypothetical as to what it might cost to actually get into the top 5 at the draft and where to go from there. This isn't necessarily what I'd like the Flames to do. If you feel it would take more, then what? If it's not worth Hamilton + Bennett, I would probably agree. If you think it's a **** trade, tell me why.
