I kinda like the deal you have between the habs and the canes but if it was patches instead of chucky who would you offer?

If Montreal wasn't benefiting so much I'd give this 5 stars. If Carolina decides to go rebuild route they can really make some noise at the draft.

I'm not a fan of the MTL trade, and the Chicago trade is decent. But I love the DET trade. I feel that instead of getting McCarron traded, trade away Saarela and Nikita Scherbak, and maybe a 3rd or 4th liner. Otherwise I like it.

I’ve really struggled with that one. Skinner is 4 or 5 years younger and just entering his prime, and Patches is closer to (not at) the end of his. That 5 years of difference has to be valued. Is that a 2Rd pick, is that another player, I’m not sure. I’d say maybe Rask + maybe J. Gauthier and a MTL conditional pick of some value (based on Patches resigning) but not including Skinner. What I do know is that MB has to hit a homerun with this trade asset and I’m not sure if there would be enough value there for the Habs fans to feel like it was a good enough...even though it very well may be FMV.

For me Zadina for Hanafin is a wash... (little like Set Jones for Johansson)
and Chucky < Skinners + Rask ... Mtl should probably add some salary depth your way as Hanafin would go for a BIG raise... Mtl add A.Shaw or Schlemko

Shaw could be an interesting wrinkle to that deal. We do love our former Blackhawks down here.
