Potent Offense (Buffalo and Carolina trades)

Created by: yosh
Team: 2018-19 Dallas Stars
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 3, 2018

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Dallas had dog shite offense last year and needs a true second line. The ROR trade was proposed by a buffalo fan on here and is based on the assumption that ROR wants out of Buffalo. The Carolina trade is based off the assumption that they’re not resigning Skinner and don’t believe in Darling. Darling was awful as a starter but was a clutch back up in Chi. Spezza had a awful season under Hitch last year, but can likely get back to 20 goals with some playing time and decent line mates. Carolina needs a skilled center. This is also based on the assumption that Hanzal has seen his last NHL game after back surgery number 3.

I think the Buffalo Trade works, I'm not crazy about going from #32 to #44, but it would not be a deal breaker.

The Buffalo trade is terrible. Its just a bunch of garbage topped with 13 oa. A 3rd liner, a depth dman on the side they have a ton of depth on already, and a 19 year old goalie they dont need. Just to pick a kid thatll take another 2-3 before they know if he'll be an NHLer. Everybody on here forgets ROR did not ask for a trade and was the sabres 2nd best forward. If they trade him its to address a position of need with an impact player.

Not a fan of that Carolina trade. Spezza is far past his prime and Skinner is just getting into his. Just to much of a win for Dallas

I would normally agree but I think you can get a very special player in this year's draft at 13.

Not one that wont need development. So lets keep setting the Sabres back, trade their 2nd best forward for a middle 6 forward that best case scenario will be in Buffalo in 2 years. By that time you burn 2 years off of everyones contracts and who knows who will want to leave by then. Rinse and repeat.

Buffalo would want more for ROR and Gurianov and a 1st won't get you Skinner and Darling.
