Description
If we are going to draft Zadina - I want to trade for Necas to get that Zadina - Necas duo that killed it at the world junior!

And while I am at it, lets try to get Svechnikov.

Comment what you think it would take to make this trade happen!

I think that what i'm offering is fair, and even an overpayment for two players that haven't proven anything the the show.

LAK trade: Its a hockey trade- a LHD for a RHD.

MTL needs a LHD, LAK need a RHD - problem solves

This trade is conditional on the signing of Carlson or Green

AND Petry waiving his NTC (easier to do when you are moving to LA)

And by overpayment do you mean underpayment?

I mean the trade will have to be an overpayment

Also - The expensive piece here is Svechnikov

You get a perennial 35 goal scorer, ad stud NHL-ready goalie, a 20 goal rookie, a great prospect in Scherback, and a 2nd pick

Also remember that Necas and Svechnikov haven't done anything yet - remember Yakupov? supposed to be an incredible stud ?

I don't think that's how GMs evaluate their picks... if a good player is available with the pick it'll have a large value.

Canes really don't get much except what they can trade for the upcoming UFA Patches.

He is good in the OHL, that is certain and he has a lot of potential, ill give you that -> but will he become a 40pts player? a 100pts player or a 50-60 pts player... the value is in the potential 60+ pts player. Patch on the other hand is a proven 60pts (30goals) scorer... that has a lot of value too..

Anyway, the player I really wanted was Necas

they also get Lindgren, Lekhonen( 20 goals in his first season), Scherbak (great promise)

Then what would you put in the trade?

it is easy to say it won't work

Lindgren hasn’t proven he can be a starter by any means. Your “perennial 35 goal scorer” scored 17 goals this year and has 1 year left on his contract. Lehkonen did not score 20 goals and scherbak a 22 year old that still can’t make the team on a regular basis and a 2nd. Please tell me how this is worth a top 15 pick and a top 3 pick...

lets say Patch's year isn't a good representation of what he can do -

also Lindgren has shown already that he is capable of clutch goaltending - he did replace Price while he was injured

OK - then, what would it take to make that trade, OR to get Necas only?

Carolina has no interest in that trade. Having those 2 young players solidified their forward core for a while. All Carolina really needs is consistent goaltending and a guy like Grubauer would be much more attractive than Lindgren.

Plain and simple. Great value coming in, stuff you're overvaluating going out. Like 4 cavaliers for 2 corvettes. Future Max will not be Max from the past and will soon want money for the past, GMs know this.
