Honestly, Canes aren’t going to the #2 overall pick and Justin Faulk (argueably their top two realistic trade assets) for future picks. I have a feeling there would be better offers on the table if #2 is included in the trade.

Cane fans would hate this. You just don't **** with top 3 picks, even when the other team is giving a "fair deal". Canes would be asking for people to overpay the hell for the pick, which would mean any offer would be suicide. I see 99 universes where Carolina drafts Svech/Zadina, and 1 where they trade it.

Where did I list future picks?

Probably not but 99.9% of the **** posted on this site will never happen either.

Sorry, meant later picks. Either way, I’m just not seeing the returned value for what you’d be asking for.

It's fun to imagine and discuss. A big problem I see is that we all want OUR team to succeed, which leads up to making lopsided trades. I'm of the philosiphy that any big trade a team makes, should hurt for both sides. But, as the wound heals, both teams come out better then before. I don't see that with this trade.

Faulk is a top pairing Dman.
Svechnikov is projected to be a superstar scoring winger. Laine territory.

The value isn't enough here.

I'm a canes fan. Justin Faulk and Andrei Svechnikov for two firsts? That's not happening. At least try to make it realistic. I'll give you thats the best assets detroit could offer but it is still a million miles away from happening. That package may get you faulk on his own ( maybe a third or something to even the value) but you will not get either Svech or Zadina in that package on its own let alone trying to get both. The only way I think you could realistically expect Carolina to give up that pick is for a star goaltender. A Sergi Bobrovsky, Carey Price, Marc-Andre Fleury, Jonathan Quick type goalie.

Agreed this trade would never happened, but really two firsts, Jenson, and Andreas for Faulk? maybe a third to even the value? your definitely overvaluing Faulk by a lot.
