Namestnikov was valuable in Tampa because he fed off of and u could argue he even helped Stammer and Kucherov. He wasn’t centering and leading his own line. He hasn’t been great in NY because there arent any star players he can feed from. He needs to go to a team like Pittsburgh or Edmonton or even back to Tampa.

Or maybe he could get some boost from Radulov and Pacioretty, or even Benn.

Ok, but he’s not a C IMO. He’s been better on the wing.

If Seguin is willing to sign with MTL in the first place, why not wait an extra year and sign as a free agent? its not like we wouldn't be able to match any offer anybody else would give in terms of dollar amount.

Simmonds for Faksa? Voracek for Seguin? Those are two guys the Flyers would probably love to have but not sure what the price would be.

It's a possibility. I think however that you'd be much more likely to get him signed if he hypothetically played a very good season with the Habs than just paying a crazy amount of money.

If there is no trade, Dallas would try to resign Seguin, no matter the cost.

Simmonds for Faksa sounds nice to me if Simmonds resigns with us.

Voracek isn't that interesting piece in my opinion. He's a good player, yes, but I'd rather keep Seguin.

Interesting. Just floating it out there since I think it might help fill the needs of both teams (Simmer/Faksa). Just curious what a Stars fan thought instead of the randoms on here.

Habs are one of the worst teams in the league. The just traded they best goal scorer, their 2nd/3rd best goalscorer and their best goal scoring prospect (draft pick) and Seguin is supposed to have a good season because??? lol

It would be a strike of good luck just to get Seguin in the first place. Him having a good season with a worse offense than Dallas would be catching lighting in a bottle.

Well, out of curiosity, would you accept a deal like this:

        Philadelphia Flyers
        Jason Spezza (20% salary retained)
        Radek Faksa
        Brett Ritchie
        2020 3rd round pick

        Dallas Stars
        Wayne Simmonds
        Brian Elliott
        Scott Laughton

I don't know why Dallas would trade Seguin unless he said he didn't want to resign with them... The rarest things in the NHL right now are legit #1 star Centers and legit #1 star Goalies. You have to do everything in your power and wallet to resign them.

Happy to see there are some Habs fans that are realists and actually know the state of their team right now.

I don't really want him to be traded at all, but I know for a fact that this team needs a wake-up call, and this is one way to do it.

It's interesting and not bad but I just don't feel confident enough to move Elliot. Would Neuvirth or Lyon or even Stolarz interest you? You wouldn't have to add Ritchie, Spezza, and/or picks. Maybe Simmonds/Morin/Lyon for Faksa/Honka. Is DAL really set on moving Spezza? I mean he would be a one year fill in I guess but not sure of his cost. The deal you posted above (Neuvy/Spezza) would be something that I'd probably do but Lyon or Stolarz would be cheaper than Neuvirth allowing you to save the same amount of money essentially - $1M difference between Neuvy/Lyon vs retaining $1M on Spezza - same thing. The only reason i ask about Honka too was just that the Flyers could use a right shot dman since we have all lefties except Gudas haha

I don't see it as an option at all. Matthews/Eichel/Crosby/Kopitar/Getzlaf/Monahan/Barkov/McDavid etc. don't be traded to" shake things up", #1 centers are way too valuable to trade for anything but another #1 center
