Detroit is in zero position to give up that to move up 3 spots. There is zero team that would do this... especially in such a deep draft.

Granted I may have overpaid a tiny bit, but Montreal is absolutely listening to offers on that pick, and teams will absolutely give up high end assets to move into the top 3 of this draft. It's a deep draft class, but Zadina is a tier above everyone else behind him. Detroit's crop of young talent is not nearly as barren as most seem to believe, they aren't that desperate to fill in the prospect pipeline. If any team outside the top 3 has a reasonable deal to draft a potential game breaker, they'll do it.

If Tkachuk or Boqvist are available there is no way Montreal picks Kotkaniemi. There is a debate of Tkachuk going 3rd and Zadina 4th so if Montreal is trading down and still gets one of the two, it is excellent.
