Talk with Botterill, Reinhart straight up for Krug. I do not understand why so many Boston CF GM want to trade him. Please tell me why. I guess I am no judge of defensemen in their own zone, I saw him move players from out of the front of the net.

Same thoughts. I thought today how to exchange the Krug for us, but I did not solve this question, so I trade Klefbom.

Anaheim has lindholm, fowler, manson, montour and defensive prospects. Why would they trade for krug?

i would gladly give up Reinhart for Krug. I watched a video of Dahlin and I see he likes to play the RHD so he could be paired with Krug, Scandella with Ristolainen, McCabe with Bogosian. The entire buffalo defense only score 5 more goals than Krug did. Then O'Reilly, Lehner and Nylander could be traded for Skinner and Rask and I think the team would look really good. Especially in a year or so with Pilut and Olofsson in the line up.

I completely agree. We need effective defenders in attack.

He doesn't play Defense very well. He was an even player on a team that was tied for 3rd in goal differential. Despite all his points, he was the only Bruins defenseman who was not a +10 player or greater. Only 27/59 points were on the PP which means he was giving up as much as he was getting 5-5.

Incredible offensive talent. Bruins tend to only use one D man on PP and personally I'd be fine with McAvoy getting 1st unit time & Grzelyk is getting the time with the 2nd unit.

Thank you for your response very helpful when I do not have the time to watch too many other teams. Regardless, buffalo could use a strong offensive defenseman and if you could take Reinhart for him I would make that trade. Buffalo has several RW prospects but not high offensive defensemen prospects, so it IMO would help Buffalo.

I'm really;y just throwing out general ideas, the Bs need to move krug and sure up #1 LD or #2 RW. So if Anaheim wouldn't do it thats fine, but the trade in general is what they need to look for.

I don't think they would trade him for a forward. They have a ton of Forward Depth. They need a LD who is more defensive minded, but can still skate. I actually think Klefbom makes sense for Krug. Edmonton has the more defensive minded guys, they need someone who can move the puck. Krug would help Edm and McDavid immensely.

They don't know either. Sadly we have a few hacks that spew garbage to get view/clicks/likes and their hockey knowledge is awful. I've yet to find anyone who can give me a legitimate reason why Boston should trade Krug. As I said in a previous post, BOS fans screamed for an OFD for years...we get one and now people want to trade him because he's not a Norris contender every year.

Perfect that is what I thought. I can cross Krug off of my wish list now.

Don't think Krug is getting traded for a forward. Especially to Anaheim.

I think he could still be had in the right deal, but I think its more likely he's traded next off-season when he only has a year left before becoming a UFA. Great point producer, but inconsistent in the defense department. Shows flashes of being able to handle opponents that face your 2nd pairing, but then the next games looks like a 3rd pairing PP specialist. In a perfect world for the B's, he's a 3rd pairing guy that can play more minutes if need be. He doesn't need a defensive minded d-man that can make a good first pass though.

I like signing De Hann (although I think you're a few years and about $500k to $1m lite). I don't see why you couldn't roll out Chara, De Hann, Krug as your 3 LHD. Leaves Grz as your next man up and I think he can play either side of the defense.

This is not simply not true. I have given you reasons, but you don't agree. In fact you even list my reasons above "Great point producer, but inconsistent in the defense department. Shows flashes of being able to handle opponents that face your 2nd pairing, but then the next games looks like a 3rd pairing PP specialist. In a perfect world for the B's, he's a 3rd pairing guy that can play more minutes if need be. He doesn't need a defensive minded d-man that can make a good first pass though."

You yourself say he looks like a 3rd pairing PP specialist.

The reason to trade him is an aging LD and Grzelyk and Krug both better suited as a 3rd pairing guy. They need someone who is a bit more of a two way Dman. Krug has value and could return a legit top pairing D man with the right prospect(s).

Nobody is saying give him away. Nobody is saying he is terrible. McAvoy should continue to trend upwards offensively, as should Grzelyk. The Bruins usually use one Dman and 5 forwards on their PP. McAvoy and Grzelyk (or guy coming back) could easily fill that roll. You are not losing as much as you are gaining giving that PP time to McAvoy as you are being able to lighten the burden on Chara defensively.

The years Bruins fans wanted a puck moving defenseman, they didn't have McAvoy. For all intents and purposes, they had 6 Stay at home dmen - Boychuck was somewhere in the middle, but more defensive minded.

If they can find a way to keep him and get a legit top 4 LD, I am all for it, but I would much rather keep Debrusk, Donato, Studnicka, Zboril, Frederic, etc...

I would love to trade Backes and Cehlarik for Oliver Ekman-Larsson, but it's not how it works.
