    If I'm Chiarelli, I'm not touching Kane with a 400ft pole, especially at that price. Skilled? Sure. Arrogant? Definitely. I don't want his attitude on or around this team. Neal or Vanek on cheaper, shorter deals, and push Hoffman up.

    Tbh, I don't do the Risto deal knowing how much less Ceci costs. Slightly lower ceiling, about the same level of reward, but at a lesser cap hit and acquisition cost. We don't get to dump Sekera, but Strome is still a valuable asset, and we keep the #10 pick.

    you are bursting my bubble, I like that Sekera / Ristolainen. so what do you think would be needed to bring home Ceci?

    A 2nd and a 3rd. Edmonton's picks at the upcoming draft are more than likely enough. They don't want to qualify him at his pricepoint, and they don't exactly want him either. I doubt they could get fair value for him. It's more than what Edmonton got for Schultz, and they're pretty comparable players imo.

    Would a 1 for 1 with strome work?

    @vinnylou Thoughts on this?

    Really interesting trades all round. Ottawa jumps on that all day.

    Strome for Ceci? I could see that. OTT just traded Brassard and could use a center.

    All those teams jump on those trades. We'd be screwed in a few years. Ottawa sheds a lot of cap and gets a nice.high draft pick. Edmonton gets a winger that they don't need when Nuge is just fine!.. What happens when mcdavid and draisaitl go down with an injury?? Not to mention we have far to many young guys in that top 6 playing important minutes. I've seen it this year.. We can't let these guys just walk on to those spots. They need to be earned. Let them dominate one level before they go to the next. There's no point in getting Lazar if you're not going to play him, get rid of gryba and Davidson cannot be signed for less than what he's at. Which is 1.4 million.

    But I do like the nurse signing. Realistic

    In regards to too many young guys in the top 6, that's why I acquired Hoffman and Kane. I agree that on second thought maybe Yamamoto shouldn't be top line, he might not even make the team next year. However, it's puljujarvi's 3rd year in the nhl now, I feel like he can probably play top 6. And what do you mean we're screwed in a few years? We only gave up 1 prospect and 1 first rounder, doesn't seem too drastic. And what if McDavid or Drai gets injured? Same thing that'd happen with most NHL teams, how many teams have 3 centres like that? Maybe Pittsburg after acquiring Brassard I guess... And I'll fix the Brandon Davidson contract
