why would you trade two first round picks for guys that can be gotten for less. especially when they can get two good blueline prospects at 11 & 12

Why would you trade for Grubauer when you have Sorokin coming in to be a great replacement?

I’d rather have Ty Smith and Joe Veleno in the pipeline then those trades.

Because they need to convince Tavares that they want to win. Keeping those picks means youre okay with rebuilding and JT is gone.

I’m not sure Columbus trades Murray but if we do 5 mil is way too much.... try 3.5. Honest Bozak and Cizikas are the same player you don’t need two of them.... you’d be better off keeping one of the picks and signing Carlson with the 8.5 you saved from not signing Murray and Bozak..... then trade the goalie that won’t come with Ho Sang to Washington for Grubauer.... it’s nkt perfect but it’s a start.

Agreed, which is a shame because you should be able to sell him on the future of this team with Barzal and all the young talent he could lead the way for. So many years of suffering finally add up though.
