Montreality25 needs to realize that Max's value is EITHER Nurse or the #10 overall pick -- not both. That said, Max is anything but heartless/gutless. He's quiet, for sure, but he shows up. I don't know Eberle or why the Oilers gave up on Hall, but clearly none of RNH, Strome, Lucic or Maroon did the trick on McDavid's wing. Pacioretty is made for that job. He's a big target in the high slot with a great release. They'd be lethal together.

The guy us a FIRST OVERALL and he gets 48 points playing on a team with McDavid and Draisaitl. It would be pretty good if he were a defenceman. As a forward, It's not just bad, it's f***ing pathetic.

Has he played a season on either of their wings or centres? He is always paired with terrible wingers. Playing more on the caution of defence first. Yes he hasn't put up insane numbers. But obviously there's where a person on our side of the fence only sees. But being the teammate who sees him kill penalties, play a really good game and all the small stuff that others don't see. Those guys love him, want him on the team. I don't think the same could have been said about Taylor hall. He wouldn't have been the same player as he is in NJ. I love Nuge, we just haven't seen him play with mcdavid on a line until the last 14 games of the year where he put up 7 goals and 8 assists. It has just been continuing on in the wc. Let him convert to the wing and he'll do what patches o hoolahan has done. But better bc he can play in all situations

Sounds like you're describing Plekanec. That's not a job for a first overall or even a first rounder on most teams.

(BTW, I live in Glenora and have 50% of a season ticket, so I see a lot of RNH. He's a fine player, but not nearly at the valuation you place on him)

Why did I endure the worst stretch of hockey I've ever seen in a team ( I haven't been watching forever) but that's the only remaining piece of those terrible years. It's like we went through all that crap for nothing, I don't see the point of trading him for an aging vet who I'm not high on, why buy on the expectations he returns to that form. We haven't seen him with mcdavid, you can see the chemistry between the 2. If he scores over 30 goals on the wing. Well whats wrong with that, burns was drafted as a forward..but turned into a defensemen. Giroux 15 years after being drafted and being a really established centre turned winger had the best season of his career. So why not let Nuge see if he can have the success on the wing before we ship him off and call him a waste of yet another pick.

Thats why the trade isn’t just Max.... that 2nd is almost like a late first and you have Benn. The value isn’t that far off and Pacioretty scored those 4 back to back 30+ goal seasons (3 of those were 35+) with a team that has no real C. He can help solidy the LW and bring some scoring to the Oilers. Someone will pay that Price.
