Skinner and a second for Brody and an RFA? You may be insane. You are trading for one of the best goalscorers in the league. You will have to pay the price of one of the best players in the league.

He wasn't even top-50 in goals this year.

Enlighten me how someone can finish 68th in goal scoring but still be considered a top 10 goal scorer?

skinner had a bad year, mostly due to Peters obsession of turning him into a two way player and poor deployment of him. CAR says no.

1 bad year. 4 in the league last season and has been top 10 for the past 3 or 4 prior. He's one of the top ten in the league

Sadly, it is a "what have you done lately" league.
With that said, Skinner was terrible last year.
As the Flames I wouldn't want to make these trades.

Yeah what have you done lately. Back to back 40 goal seasons and 7 straight of 20 or more deserve some credit no? He's a hell of a player and a leader in CAR. You'd be lucky to have him in calgary he scores goals.

I actually like Skinner, I think he would fit in well. The issue I have is contract.
Brodie has 2 more years at less than 5 mill, Skinner at just under 6 mill on the last year of his contract. For the Flames to give up an extra year of a top 4 dman and a top prospect is not worth it to me. If Skinner agreed to a reasonable extension after the trade, sure I'd do it.
Also like Gallagher, but you only need one of the two guys. I'd say Brodie for Skinner, and nix the last two trades.

Can't find any 40 goal seasons, let alone back to back for Skinner...
