No way Matthews gets less than 10 mill and Marner will probably get 7 mill, which they can afford.
Why trade Marleau, they need a leader.
Defensive issue isn't solved.

After giving up a 1st, 2nd and 3rd round pick for him, I doubt vegas trades Tatar away, especially for pieces they don't need

I think people are overvaluing Matthews (I think he's one step beneath Stammer and Tavares) and I don't think he should make more than 9, but that's just my opinion. The talk is that the Leafs will trade Marleau in the third year to make some room for Marner and Matthews and all their other RFAs. That said, I'd be happy to see him stay if there's room. As for defense I think ppl overthink it or else think they require Karlsson to fix them. The left side was solid this year, the right side was rough. My hope is that Zaitzev gets his game back, Liljegren is ready for next year, and Carick or Holl can play second pairing minutes. Definitely too optimistic, but we'll see

Yea fair enough. I was definitley stretching it with that one. What do you think would be a realistic Tatar trade?

I don't think there is one without a massive overpayment. Doubt Vegas would've given all that up if they didn't see him as a core piece moving forward.
