No no and no to Carlson. And this bottom 6 will be exposed every game. You should have Spezza as 3C

The third line is built for speed I don’t think it gets that exposed because we’ve seen what Vegas and Winnipeg do with that speed. The fourth line is just meant to be a little bigger and tougher if we really wanted to make it tough we could scratch Vecchione and NAK an de pit in Spezza centering Vorobyov and Goulbourne. As for defense I can’t see your griping about Carlson when is sole function is to replace Gudas, but better, a lot better.

No Lethera is actually horrible especially in the Flyers system. He gets that much because Dallas needs any and all cap room they can get just to resign their own players. Plus Spezza is old and only put up 20 pts all of last season.

You do know that we already have a plethora of puck moving D men right? Last thing we need is an $8 mil one.

Being a Flyer fan you should know that Laughton is not a 3C and Martel at the age of 23 has played a total of 4 NHL games. Kapanen is the only one who belongs here.

Hextall has already basically said he’s riding mediocre goaltending until our prospects come through ie Carter Hart. I don’t necessarily agree but it is what it is.

I disagree that Laughton isn’t a third liner. I haven’t seen his CORSI and stats like that from time he’s spent on the third line versus fourth line. But from the eye test he was an improvement every time he was up on the third line versus when Fippula was centering it. Also it’s a little unfair to compare Laughton to Nolan Patrick when he was the third line center. I think a lot of Laughton’s struggles and the teams in general have to do with Hakstol being a hak of a coach. Martel has next to nothing in experience but that again I blame on Hakstol not being a good coach and realizing that speed is a necessary part of the game (ie Lethera won’t cut it). What kind of Dman do you think we need then? Because Carlson is an improvement on Gudas who was too slow to play Defense, he’s a heavy RH shot which is nice and he’s an improvement over MacDonald who while playing great in the playoffs still wasn’t worth the price tag. Obviously just about anyone is an improvement over manning, and Morin can’t stay healthy for 5 mins so at that point MacDonald will become our 7th Dman.

Stars would never do that trade. I know they want to get rid of that terrible Spezza contract, but it is still possible that his last season was only a fluke and they'd be pretty dumb to sacrifice two picks for that (especially a 1st round one).

I'd keep Weise and bury him in the AHL instead of having to sacrifice a draft pick just to get rid of his contract. Of course, the problem is that Hak will play him, so in practice, I wouldn't mind that trade happening.

I'd be thrilled if we got Kapanen and a 1st for Simmonds and Leier. I guess that one is possible.

I'd definitely hold on to Weal and especially Raffl. Maybe even Gudas, though I do want Phil Myers in the NHL as well.

Carlson for 3 years and 8M per is cool, though i think he's gonna be looking for longer term.

All of Voro, Vecc, NAK and Martel being in the NHL is really unlikely. I would expect one of them to be up for the season opener (probably NAK) and then maybe one coming over in the mid-season because of an injury and impressing enough to stay. I also don't want to see Goulbourne anywhere near the NHL roster.

Goulbourne was actually really good in his debut and subsequent games this season. His first game he made a hit on the forecheck and Laughton scored. Will he be somewhat exposed as an NHL player? Probably, but the Flyers are small and not firstly and I think that’s the problem, look at Pittsburgh if we played them more physical and with Lyon as our goalie we could have put up a hell of a fight. Also I got a 3rd and 7th for Spezza in the Lethera deal no where was a first exchanged. I think that deal is a little bit of a stretch too but Dallas might need the cap room. As for the young guys I could see realistic 2-3 making the NHL roster, especially cause the beat writers were saying Voro almost made the team out of camp last season. So I have Voro, NAK, and Martel for his speed making the team Vecchione is a wild card but I think he’s good enough to play fourth line center.

Apologies, I don't know why I thought it said 1st round pick.

Yes, Goulbourne made that hit and that is all. He played around 4 minutes a night and was mostly invisible. Don't forget it's a guy who played in ECHL just last year. He's a bottom 6 AHL-er. I also hugely disagree about Flyers being better in the Pens series simply by being more physical, how exactly do you think it would makes us better?

Also, yes, Elliott was really bad in the playoffs, but why would you start Lyon? His NHL numbers were not very good and his AHL stats were about average. He's been huge in the playoffs for LV, but I don't think it's fair to blame Hak for not playing him.
