Chiarelli already considered to be a joke of a GM! Put together an offer sheet and he and the Oilers may as well go and play in Russia, as it's going to be a long, LONELY, cold winter!

If you want to be despised among the GM circle, just "offer sheet" a young promising RFA.
Honestly there should be a penalty to a team that offer sheets a player if they are not successful.
If the controlling team decides to match the offer sheet, then the team that made the offer should have to give up 1 draft pick.
    Above $7.5M, it should be a 1st round. $5M-$7.5M a 2nd round. $3.5M-$5M a 3rd round. $1.5M-$3M a 4rth round.

I wouldn’t do the giant for the midget trade. The midget is a better hockey player, can’t give the better player up and give a first round pick.

Montour looks like he going to.be the #1 or no worse than 1B RHD for the Ducks. Why does he sign this offer sheet? Gallagher for Nurse might be fair. But why do the Habs have to include a potential lottery pick?

Montour is a close 2nd behind Athanasiou as the prime offer sheet guy in this draft class.

The MTL trade isn’t great tho

One of the few bright spots on their back end this past season was Darnell Nurse. I would like to see him develop in Edmonton. To deal him now, when he is still so young and still growing into his big grame, would be such a waste considering how much, ironically, Edmonton need more defence like him. The only way I see him moved is if you can find another young defender in a similar mold. Here is a proposal I thought up that might help both teams.

    To Edmonton:

    (1) Josh Manson
    (2) Ryan Kesler (assuming he can pass a physical)
    (3) Jakob Silfverberg
    (4) Jacob Larsson

    To Anaheim:

    (1) Leon Draisaitl
    (2) Milan Lucic
    (3) Darnell Nurse
    (4) Jesse Puljujärvi

I did the math and I believe the numbers work within the cap for both teams moving into next season. The Oilers get rid of the Lucic contract, but risk the loss of Puljujärvi, who needs a fresh start and might turn out to be pretty stellar. Anaheim also gets a center that will eventually replace the aging Getzlaf. For Edmonton, the risk is with Kesler, that he will remain healthy, but he would provide much needed support to their defensive game. Manson is a beast and Larsson is a top defensive prospect that plays a solid 2-way game. Silfverberg is another 2-way player. I have no pony in this race, so to speak, I just like big deals that potentially help out both teams.
