    Thanks for taking the time to put the team together and publish your work.

    I have a few general comments:

    1. I think to get JT the Sabres will have to overpay him so $12,500,000 is where I think we would have to be in order for him to sign;

    2. I do not see Bernier singing for $1,750,000 I think you looking at $3,500,000 and above;

    3. ROR, McCabe and the #32 pick is too much for the #3 overall pick IMO. I think we could do better shopping those pieces individually;

    4. That LW is scary...... I am in the camp of leaving Mittelstadt at C which is where he is most comfortable.... I do not want to see what the Sabres did to Sam happen to Casey by playing him out of position;

    5. I sure hope you are right about getting JT;

    Thanks for the effort!!!

    no. Would the Habs want O'Reilly? Absolutely. but zero chance do I see the MTL moving completely out of the first rd to get him. I wouldn't be opposed to moving down, but BUF would have to have at least around 15th overall in my opinion.

    something like:

    To BUF: 3rd overall + average prospect (De la Rose, who could replace ROR in the center depth chart. or Lernout, a RD)
    To MTL: ROR + 16th overall

    I just can't see MTL moving down from 3rd overall for anything worse then a mid 1st rounder

    Maybe it's just not a fit for both teams with those assets. I agree with @wagsnags that BUF would probably get a better bang for their buck moving those pieces individually.

    In my opinion your under valueing Ristolainen by getting just Klefbom in that trade. Risto is far more proven, played big minutes by himself in Buffalo and would flourish with some actual depth on the team.

    It also makes you have two young left handed defenceman in your top pairing, both of whom have never really played top line minutes while holding the responsibilities of a top pairing dman in the NHL. That’s a big risk for a team and a big demand out of young players.

    We have 6 lhd. Dahlin, scandella, mccabe, beaulieu, pilut, and guhle. Why would we be looking to trade ristolainen for another lhd? The answer is we would not. We might if the add from edmonton was considerable. If edmonton added 10oa and we gave them back 32oa, 10oa could be used with ror to get zadina. No way i do klefbom straight across for risto, both players have fleas, risto is better, and rhd are harder to come by.

    I don’t see the point in the oilers trade.
    Also with all that cap space you should sign John Carlson.
    You need to give MTL more, maybe a 2018 3rd and a 2019 1st instead of a 2018 2nd.
