You clearly don’t understand how valuable Kessel is. If Kessel got a high end prospect and a 1st and a 3rd when he was averaging 70-80 points. Then he clearly warrants a roster player, a prospect, a 1st and a 3rd when he almost hit the century mark

You also seem to forget that the Leafs took Spaling's contract as a capdump in that deal.

Who was an average 4th line C/LW (averaged roughly 25-30 points). You can't call him a cap dump when TOR currently employs Matt Martin as a roster player.

Why the Nurse for Maatta swap?

With the Maatta retention and Nurse's contract, we go from filling our 2nd pairing left D for about $4million to about $6million. Nurse isn't much of an upgrade over Maatta.

That's not even an argument. What does a current Leafs player have to do with a guy who was dumped to the Leafs for cap space from the Pens?
