A competitive squad

Created by: JimCarrey
Team: 2016-17 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 8, 2016
Published: Mar. 8, 2016
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Big moves to improve D/Goaltending. Bringing in Backes gives our top 6 expirience, size, and defence (could even wear the C) I know Babs recently said he sees nylander on the wing but him, Matthews and Backes are all C/RW so dont take the lines too literally. I know lot of people like bashing Marincin but him underlying numbers (with Rielly) are pretty good. Boyes is an affordable UFA who can play throughout the lineup (currently is 3rd in Pts/60 on Toronto) And finally Marner is on there just becase who knows how his situation will play out

Both Robidas and Lupul might be ready to play next year, so the idea of putting them (especially Lupul) on LTIR may not be realistic. Andersen;s gonna get a lot more money than that. Sure the Ducks would want a lot more than that package for two NHL starters

No it is realistic, the leafs will likely keep them on the LTIR for the remainder of their contracts, as a loophole for cap reliefs. The team has likely retired them and they keep them on the LTIR for the remainder of their contract (so they still get paid).

Players cannot go on LTIR unless they're injured. Because Robidas was signed at age 35 + the most LTIR the Leafs can get is $ 925,000, even he is injured.

What's funny is that the combined price of Stamkos and Auston Matthews is roughly equivalent to that of McDonald and Girardi!

For the record I think babs meant that he wished he could start Nylander's career on the wing very similar to what NY Islanders did with Tavares. Also, You are over 2 million over cap how were you planning the leafs getting that past to NHL office?
