Nicely done with the Buffalo trade...... I would have the following counters:

1. Buffalo inserts their 2019 2nd Round pick instead of the 2018 2nd Round pick;

2. Instead of Smallman swap in either Foegele or Kuokanen..... The Sabres need help with the LW;

Good try, but Buffalo isn't looking for multiple futures, we'd need something more substantial than Faulk seeing as he's purely an offensive dman with only 2 years on his contract.

Faulk is a stable top four defence man. He had a bad season defensively but he played infront of horrible goaltending and was on a pair with another offensive defenceman. He was with Hanifin for most of the season and you might as well have had 6 attackers because the goaltenders and defneders were useless. Faulk and Rask are at least NHL calibre players and thats what Buffalo need. Without Eichel Ristolinan Okposo and ROR it's an AHL team. You have a center who's name is said by people when the sneeze. Rodrigues has been good but he's not NHL calibre. Rask and Faulk give you that. You also get a brilliant prospect and NHL ready player in Nicholas Roy. This trade benefits Buffalo more then you think.

Regardless thank you for your feedback <3

Five stars for wanting O'Reilly.
IMO this is an easy yes for Buffalo
Rask will help fill the hole at center after O'Reilly is traded
Faulk provides a top pairing RHD
The 1st is the icing on the cake
Roy, N. & Lorentz, S. are the decorations on the cake
Let's make a deal!!! cheers

From a canes standpoint, it gets rid of Rasks bad contract. You create a spot for Mckeown whos NHL ready. You fix your blatently obvious need for a goaltender and a centre. It just made sense to me. cheers <3

O'Reilly is more or less Faulk
2019 2nd and Lehner is more or less 2018 1st
Rask, Roy, N. and Lorentz, S. tip the scales totally in Buffalo's favor

2019 first* The 2018 first is the second overall pick and Andrei Svechnikov.
Rask is a capdump. Nicholas Roy and Lorentz weren't gonna make Carolina because they are strong down the wings and would fix the centre depth. It's more even then a Buffalo robbery. Honestly, the prospects are just to make Buffalo take Rask's 4 by 4 for a 4th lliner in Carolina.

Yes it is highway robbery and I knew it as soon as I saw Faulk, Rask and a 2019 1st. The prospects could be total busts and the Sabres win the trade. I think when one truly understands player values it is easy to see who wins this trade. I am sorry my fat fingers mistype the year of the trades. I think this trade helps both teams by trading each teams surplus to fill holes. I hope you realize I was agreeing with you from the beginning.

I realise you agree but I’m saying the Sabres may win this trade but it’s not robbery. Robbery is the Duchene deal. Or trading Filip Forsberg for Martin Erat. This is a trade that benefits both. Sabres get the better end of the stick maybe but it helps both teams.
